Pastor Namju Bae is committed to interpreting Scripture faithfully and helping that Word take root in family life and everyday life. He especially serves so that families can worship together and grow in faith across differences in language and generation.
Ministry that connects generations through the Word and builds up families through the gospel.
Pastor Bae seeks to teach the whole counsel of Scripture faithfully and help the Word heard on Sunday be lived out at home, at work, in relationships, and in daily decisions. He believes the church should not replace faith formation in the home, but should help parents and children share the Word and grow together in faith.
He studied in seminaries shaped by Methodist, Baptist, and Lutheran traditions through M.Div. and Th.M. work, and pursued doctoral studies in Old Testament. He grew up in the Presbyterian church and was ordained in the Christian Reformed Church in North America (CRCNA). During the week, he works as a web developer for the State of Illinois and has developed an AI-powered real-time interpretation tool so Korean- and English-speaking families can hear the Word together.
